OPEN YOUR MINDS TO UNDERSTAND CHRIST
OPEN YOUR MINDS TO UNDERSTAND CHRIST
(Luke 24: 45-47) 45 Then opened he their
understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, (KJV)
45 THEN HE OPENED THEIR MINDS, that they might
understand the Scriptures. (WEB)
46 And said unto
them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise
from the dead the third day:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should
be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem
The Christ spoke here helped to understand that the state of
the mind is very important in rightly dividing the word of righteousness He did
not open there spirit at this point but he opened their eye of their
understanding which the heart is in the mind.... It means the ability of the
mind to think in line with the scripture to understand the significance of
Jesus death, burial and resurrections for the remission of sin so that men
could receive eternal life in Christ. Which he told them before his crucifixion
JOH 5:39 SEARCH THE
SCRIPTURES; FOR IN THEM YE THINK YE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE: AND THEY ARE THEY WHICH
TESTIFY OF ME.
Apostle Paul put it
this way
1CO 2:2 FOR I
DETERMINED NOT TO KNOW ANY THING AMONG YOU, SAVE JESUS CHRIST, AND HIM
CRUCIFIED.
ROM 1: 16 ¶ FOR I AM
NOT ASHAMED OF THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST: FOR IT IS THE POWER OF GOD UNTO SALVATION
TO EVERY ONE THAT BELIEVETH; TO THE JEW FIRST, AND ALSO TO THE GREEK.
If you have not gotten to this stage as a believer, then your
life would be a struggle based on the diluted messages of condemnation from
many who will keep you in confused lifestyle of trying to keep certain rules in
order to please God thereby rendering the death of Christ ineffective to you.
Until you your mind has been opened to understand that
Christ came into this world for the reason of removing sin, then you would
never advance in the knowledge of Christ. Christ himself told the disciples
that it is repentance and the remission of sins Tat should be preached not the
commission of sins.
And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved
Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:47 And that
repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all
nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
Remission means wiping away not covering.
John 1: 29 ¶ The next
day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, WHICH
TAKETH AWAY THE SIN OF THE WORLD.
1 Cor 15: 3 For I
delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, HOW THAT CHRIST DIED
FOR OUR SINS ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES;
It is from the Greek
word ‘aphesis’ which means freedom. Mean that man has been set free from sin to
receive eternal life by faith and not by works.
RO 6:22 BUT NOW BEING
MADE FREE FROM SIN, AND BECOME SERVANTS TO GOD, YE HAVE YOUR FRUIT UNTO
HOLINESS, AND THE END EVERLASTING LIFE
EPH 2: 8 FOR BY GRACE
ARE YE SAVED THROUGH FAITH; AND THAT NOT OF YOURSELVES: IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD:
9 NOT OF WORKS, LEST ANY MAN SHOULD BOAST.
This was Paul’s prayer to the Ephesians church
(EPH 1: 16-18 )16
CEASE NOT TO GIVE THANKS FOR YOU, MAKING MENTION OF YOU IN MY PRAYERS; 17 THAT
THE GOD OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, THE FATHER OF GLORY, MAY GIVE UNTO YOU THE
SPIRIT OF WISDOM AND REVELATION IN THE KNOWLEDGE OF HIM: 18 THE EYES OF YOUR
UNDERSTANDING BEING ENLIGHTENED; THAT YE MAY KNOW WHAT IS THE HOPE OF HIS
CALLING, AND WHAT THE RICHES OF THE GLORY OF HIS INHERITANCE IN THE SAINTS
Christ did not come to condemn the world. He came that the
world through faith in Him might be saved. He made it so by removing the
obstacle called sin standing between God and man..
JOH 3:17 FOR GOD SENT
NOT HIS SON INTO THE WORLD TO CONDEMN THE WORLD; BUT THAT THE WORLD THROUGH HIM
MIGHT BE SAVED.
Christ came that we might know the truth when the eyes of our
understanding are opened through fellowship with the Holy Spirit who reveals
Christ to us as written in the scriptures about the hope of His calling and
riches of His Gory of His inheritance in us. It comes when we develop an unquenchable
hunger and thirst for knowledge of Christ that is given to us by the Holy Spirit
through revelation of Christ whom God had made unto us wisdom.
1COR 1: 30 BUT OF HIM
ARE YE IN CHRIST JESUS, WHO OF GOD IS MADE UNTO US WISDOM, AND RIGHTEOUSNESS,
AND SANCTIFICATION, AND REDEMPTION:
So our wisdom is no more based on the volume of books we
read but the opening of the eyes of understanding to know what God works in us
when he raise Jesus Christ from the dead.
Eph 1: 16 cease not
to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; 17 that the god of
our lord Jesus Christ, the father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of
wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: 18 the eyes of your
understanding being enlightened; THAT YE MAY KNOW WHAT IS THE HOPE OF HIS CALLING,
AND WHAT THE RICHES OF THE GLORY OF HIS INHERITANCE IN THE SAINTS 19 AND WHAT
IS THE EXCEEDING GREATNESS OF HIS POWER TO US-WARD WHO BELIEVE, ACCORDING TO
THE WORKING OF HIS MIGHTY POWE20 WHICH HE WROUGHT IN CHRIST, WHEN HE RAISED HIM
FROM THE DEAD, AND SET HIM AT HIS OWN RIGHT HAND IN THE HEAVENLY PLACES
As we have accepted Jesus, we have to know whom we have
accepted and how to live in him for him and as him.
Apostle Paul affirmed it in
PHP 3:10 THAT I MAY
KNOW HIM, AND THE POWER OF HIS RESURRECTION, AND THE FELLOWSHIP OF HIS
SUFFERINGS, BEING MADE CONFORMABLE UNTO HIS DEATH
Christ is the
password into the scriptures and the password to the voice of the Holy Spirit.
JOH 5:39 SEARCH THE
SCRIPTURES; FOR IN THEM YE THINK YE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE: AND THEY ARE THEY WHICH
TESTIFY OF ME.
JOH 15:26 ¶ BUT WHEN
THE COMFORTER IS COME, WHOM I WILL SEND UNTO YOU FROM THE FATHER, EVEN THE
SPIRIT OF TRUTH, WHICH PROCEEDETH FROM THE FATHER, HE SHALL TESTIFY OF ME:
Thank you Jesus.
