 DO NOT MIND THE THINGS OF THE FLESH WHEN YOU ARE BORN OF THE SPIRIT

We do not live in the mind. We do not live in the flesh. We live in Christ. We are living at the point that was living before the mind and the body became functional.  We were being suspended in a position of inactivity because the mind was totally alienated from the spirit before we believed.

(EPH 4:17-18) ¶ THIS I SAY THEREFORE, AND TESTIFY IN THE LORD, THAT YE HENCEFORTH WALK NOT AS OTHER GENTILES WALK, IN THE VANITY OF THEIR MIND,18 HAVING THE UNDERSTANDING DARKENED, BEING ALIENATED FROM THE LIFE OF GOD THROUGH THE IGNORANCE THAT IS IN THEM, BECAUSE OF THE BLINDNESS OF THEIR HEART.

We are supposed to be in control of the mind. But because the mind had so mastered the flesh before the spirit was recreated the mind tends towards the flesh more than the spirit .That was what Adam lost in the Garden of Eden. He lost control of the mind and the devil took over the control of the mind by the activities of the flesh. The flesh was never to be in control of the mind from the beginning by the original plan of God.

When you mind the things of the flesh when you are born of the spirit it is a great contradiction to our identity in Christ. You are carnal. We should mortify the flesh by the deeds of our recreated human spirits.

(ROMANS 8:12) THEREFORE, BRETHREN, WE ARE DEBTORS, NOT TO THE FLESH, TO LIVE AFTER THE FLESH. (KJV)

 12 SO THEN, MY BROTHERS, WE ARE IN DEBT, NOT TO THE FLESH TO BE LIVING IN THE WAY OF THE FLESH( BBE)

IOHN 3: 6 THAT WHICH IS BORN OF THE FLESH IS FLESH; AND THAT WHICH IS BORN OF THE SPIRIT IS SPIRIT.

RO 8:5 FOR THEY THAT ARE AFTER THE FLESH DO MIND THE THINGS OF THE FLESH; BUT THEY THAT ARE AFTER THE SPIRIT THE THINGS OF THE SPIRIT.

To be born of the flesh is natural but it takes the activities in the mind to mind the things of the flesh. The man born of the flesh can never man the things of the spirit because they are spiritually discerned. His mind cannot understand the language of the Spirit because he is spiritually dead,

1COR 2:14 BUT THE NATURAL MAN RECEIVETH NOT THE THINGS OF THE SPIRIT OF GOD: FOR THEY ARE FOOLISHNESS UNTO HIM: NEITHER CAN HE KNOW THEM, BECAUSE THEY ARE SPIRITUALLY DISCERNED.

But to be born of the spirit is spiritual and it takes the mind activities to mind the things of the spirit. Since the mind could not understand the spirit without the spirit being recreated it is very easy for the mind to misunderstand the voice of the spirit since the mind has not been used to the voice.

COL 3:10 AND HAVE PUT ON THE NEW MAN, WHICH IS RENEWED IN KNOWLEDGE AFTER THE IMAGE OF HIM THAT CREATED HIM:

COL 3:12 ¶ PUT ON THEREFORE, AS THE ELECT OF GOD, HOLY AND BELOVED, BOWELS OF MERCIES, KINDNESS, HUMBLENESS OF MIND, MEEKNESS, LONGSUFFERING;

EPH 4:24 AND THAT YE PUT ON THE NEW MAN, WHICH AFTER GOD IS CREATED IN RIGHTEOUSNESS AND TRUE HOLINESS

It is easier for a man born of the spirit to mind the things of the flesh than it is for a man born of the flesh to mind the things of the spirit, The proclivity for the senses to dominate the mind to respond to the fleshy desires is always present for a man born of the spirit but the corresponding proclivity of the flesh to yield to the voice of the spirit is absent for the man born of the flesh because the spirit is dead, Unless recreated in Christ , they that are in flesh will never please God because they are not in Christ.

ROM 8:8 SO THEN THEY THAT ARE IN THE FLESH CANNOT PLEASE GOD

ROM 8:9 BUT YE ARE NOT IN THE FLESH, BUT IN THE SPIRIT, IF SO BE THAT THE SPIRIT OF GOD DWELL IN YOU. NOW IF ANY MAN HAVE NOT THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST, HE IS NONE OF HIS

We have to understand our position of perfection in Christ and live by it. The man born of the spirit can mind the things of the flesh if the mind has been polluted by fleshy desire but we have to constantly be conscious of who we are in Christ as those who are not in the flesh to mind the thins of the flesh but those who are in the spirit to mind the things of the spirit.

This is who we are in Christ.

The definition and description of the the New Creation can ONLY be in Christ.  .He can't exist anywhere else.. 2 Corinthians  5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. This means that without Christ death, burial and resurrection, there would not have been anything like New Creation.  The emergence of this new Creation has been the divine project God had  before the foundation of the world.
